Dr. Thomas Brown, Colorado Bariatric Surgery

Dr. Tom Brown is the director of the Bariatric Surgery Program at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center. He established the Colorado Bariatric Surgery Institute in association with P/SL in 2001 and has guided the program into a nationally recognized Center of Excellence. He is a leading surgeon in the development of bariatric procedures in the Denver area, and now is the most experienced surgeon in robotic bariatric surgery in the Rocky Mountain region. Robotic bariatric surgery is the next step forward in advanced technology in weight-loss surgery, making surgery even more precise with quality outcomes.

Dr. Brown earned his medical degree from Loyola Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, completed his residency at Western Reserve Care System in Ohio, and served 3 years in the Air Force at Beale AFB as a staff surgeon before settling in Colorado. He has performed nearly 4,000 bariatric procedures with successful outcomes. Dr. Brown feels that the bariatric program at P/SL is a comprehensive program with a skilled and compassionate multidisciplinary team, which is so key to preparing patients for surgery as well as managing long-term weight loss. Over 15 years Dr. Brown has remained in contact with many of his first patients, and is committed to helping all his patients achieve their weight-loss and health goals with long-term follow-up.
