Erin Dorning, PAC-C
Erin is a certified Physician Assistant who has been with CBSI since August 2011. Erin assists Dr. Brown in surgery, is responsible for evaluating patients pre- and postoperatively, and performs Lap-band fills. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology form the University of Colorado and a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center which she completed through the U.S. Military. She currently serves in the Colorado Army National Guard and previously served 6 years on active duty where she completed a combat tour to Afghanistan earning the Flight Medal, Meritorious Service Award, and The Sykorsky award for a lifesaving mission aboard a Sykorsky aircraft.
Jody Halouska, RD
Jody is our Bariatric Surgery Coordinator who is also a Registered Dietitian who counsels and educates patients as to their modified diet following bariatric surgery. Jody received her Bachelor’s degrees in Nutritional Science and Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and completed a yearlong dietetic internship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Jody has held numerous positions in nutritional counseling and education for adults and youth, as well as being a certified personal trainer. She works with CBSI patients pre- and post-operatively in individual and group settings to assist with achieving and maintaining weight loss goals.
Liz Rosenzweig, MSW, LCSW
Liz is a clinical social worker who comes to the CBSI team by way of Massachusetts, where she was working in the field of outpatient mental health. Liz received her MSW from the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work and has worked with a variety of patient populations on problems including addiction, trauma, body image, and poor self-concept. Liz is responsible for psychological screening of patients considering weight-loss surgery. She also provides post-operative support to ensure that patients make effective lifestyle changes, as well as helping patients and their loved ones with the emotional aspects of weight-loss surgery. This is achieved through individual and family meetings as well as participation in CBSI’s monthly support groups.
Elisa Fadum-Montoya, LCSW
Elisa has a Bachelor Degree in Human Services from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, a Master of Social Work from the University of Denver, and a Marriage and Family Therapy certificate from the Denver Family Institute. She has 20 years of experience in child welfare and family therapy. This included casework and supervisory experience at Volunteers of America, Denver Department of Human Services, and Bridges Family Services, Inc., a self-owned community agency providing home-based therapy to families involved with Juvenile Court. Elisa joined our Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence as a Bariatric Social Worker. She also works part-time in Mobile Crisis Services at Denver Health as a licensed clinical evaluator.
Amy Kerstiens, CMA
Amy joined CBSI in 2008 as our Insurance and Benefits Coordinator. She handles all new patient inquiries and verifies each patient’s insurance benefits and medical criteria prior to their initial consult. Amy also schedules all bariatric surgery for Dr. Brown and precertification, making it very stream-lined for patients seeking weight-loss surgery. Amy is also certified as a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist.
LouAnn joined CBSI in 2011 with 10+ years of experience in the healthcare field. LouAnn is your first contact with our office as she is responsible for answering the phones, scheduling appointments, and handling many other duties of the front office.
